🔬 Amulet Ping evidence-recording standard
The surface of this piece is recorded with high-magnification macro photos. Every photo shows this one piece only (code pl-pt-2566122401), so it is empirical evidence that everyone sees in the same way and can re-check — the basic principle of scientific record-keeping.
Cast metal — what can be observed in the macro photos
- Metal surface and grain, and the evenness of the metal colour beneath the patina
- Small pores and gas bubbles from pouring molten metal, and finishing marks
- Natural oxide layers and patina — usually built up in deep recesses, while worn high points show bare metal
- Continuity of the patina across surface, recesses and edges (features consistent with metals of the period)
Macro photos are empirical data for study and comparison — not a certification of age or authenticity. For in-depth elemental analysis (e.g. XRF / SEM-EDS), please use an independent laboratory. Please use your own judgement.
